Melton Country Park (7 miles)
140 acres of parkland, easily accessible from the
town. A section of the ‘Jubilee Way’ (a fifteen mile footpath that
leads to Belvoir Castle) passes through the park. Contains a
Visitor Centre, nature & sculpture trails, large lake and an
abundance of wildlife.
Burrough Hill Country Park (4 miles)
At 690 feet Burrough Hill is one of the highest
points in Leicestershire and a topscope indicates landmarks that
can be seen from the summit. The Hill is crowned by an iron-age
hill fort with well preserved ramparts.
